Friday Fall Freebie

It's Friday!  This week has been a busy one, but it seemed to go quickly.  I am linking up my Friday Fall Freebie with Laura Candler at Corkboard Connections.

Not all students, teachers, and schools celebrate Halloween.  Fall is so much more than that, but locating fall activities that have no connections to Halloween can often times be difficult.  Laura's link-up is all about the month of October, and there are many activities from many outstanding bloggers.

If you are looking for an activity strictly related to fall, you might enjoy this week's freebie from me.  My students enjoy Think Tac Toes, as they are given the opportunity to choose their own activities.  You can download my Think Tac Toe-All About Fall HERE, or by clicking the image.

Be sure to check out the many other activities simply by clicking the badge below. You will be excited to see what you find!

Voice Control For Cooperative Learning

No matter how well my students work within their cooperative learning teams, there are always days when I wish they were working a little bit quieter. Here is a great visual for students to monitor their noise level.  The app is called TooLoud? and is available through Apple App Store.  The version I have is free, but contains ads.  For a small price, you can purchase the app without ads.

When I use this with my students, we set a limit for the current dB.  I soon found my class monitoring their own noise level and reminding others around them when they noticed the current number was too high.  This handy app may not solve the noise level, but it will definitely help create an awareness!

Our version of the iPad

They are all over the place.  The iPad, iPod, iPhone, iTunes.  It seems that everything is all about the "i" something.  I recently came across a Pinterest pin that led me to Fifth Grade Fancy's blog post with the iHelp board.

I fell in love with the idea, so of course I thought I needed to create my own version.  To go along with my class economy, I needed a poster to list the items that they could buy with their Great Success money.  This is where my version comes in.  We have our class iRewards!

Talk about being a hit with my students!!  Do you have any ideas how you could add the "i" to your classroom?
